ST JAMES'S WAY ON HORSEBACK
The Way of Saint James, in Spain know as Camino de
Santiago, is the pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela
in northwestern Spain, where the remains of the apostle, Saint James the
Great, are said to be buried. The "French" way also has been travelled
thousands of years before, by adventures and mythicals, all following the
route of the Milky Way to Finisterre, "the end of the world". The route is
declared as the first European Cultural Route by the Council of Europe,
and also named one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.
Riding you can
enjoy fantastic landscapes, historical monuments and a great ambient. The
horse is not only a manner of transport, it gets to be a good
companion.

Our horse ride to Santiago the Compostela starts in Rabanal del Camino, located in the
"French way" about 240 km from Santiago de Compostela. We will usually
ride 6 hours, about 30 km, a day, divided in 2 stages, and we will reach
Santiago the morning 9th day. There will be stops to view interesting
places and monuments. The nights takes place in rural
houses/hotels.
Two guides will accompanian you, one riding the way
and the other with a supporting car. Our horses are perfect for long
trails. They are calm and easy to manage but quick and with temper. You
don't need to be an expert horseman, but you do need some experience with
trail-riding. Groups of 4-5 persons.
